Synthetic yarns require no treatment for effective dust pick up while lowering costs by allowing "rinse and drip dry" care.

STANDARD

Standard dust mops are generally cut fringe in design. Choices range from durable blend yarns sewn to tough synthetic backings to more economical tufted cotton yarns and cotton backings. Remember, sewn mops are more durable than tufted styles. Synthetic backings tend to last much longer than cotton.

ECONOMY

Economy mops are constructed of economical backing materials and designed without laundering in mind. Often, these disposable mops provide a much lower cost alternative than renting dust mops. Cut fringe in design, they may feature soft, open-twist blend yarn for optimum performance or tightly twisted all cotton for an economical choice.

COLOUR-CODING

Like wet mops, today's dust mops can be colour-coded to provide identification by mop size, budget responsibility, or area of use.

BACKING MATERIAL

Backing Material is also important, while cotton once dominated dust mop backing materials, synthetics have now proven their worth. Synthetics are stronger and more abrasion resistant than cotton. Although synthetic backing has a higher initial cost, the extended launderability and high performance means better value vs. cotton.
